East Haddam’s Police Department participates in the DEA’s National Prescription Take Back Day. This event takes place twice a year on the last Saturday of April and October.

Drug Take Back Day is for the public to safely and anonymously dispose of unwanted, expired, or unused medication. The main goal is to prevent drug misuses, overdose and addiction by ensuring these drugs do not fall into the wrong hands.

EHLPC collaborates with the Police Department to provide Deterra Bags and Medication Lock Bags to all attendees of the event.
