It’s not just a drink — it’s a risk
Connecticut’s Social Host Law holds parents and property owners liable for underage drinking and/or cannabis use that occur in their homes. Stating it is a crime to “knowingly or recklessly permit any minor to possess” alcohol and cannabis. For a first violation you may receive up to a 2,000 dollar fine and/or up to one year in jail!
Stopping underage drinking before it starts
EHLPC’s “Sticker Shock” Campaign is done in partnership with Moodus Package Store. This campaign is conducted during the weeks of Prom and Graduation with the intention to deter adults from supplying alcohol to underage youth and/or holding underage drinking parties, bringing awareness to Connecticut’s Social Host Law. These informational stickers are placed on all drinks that are popular amongst youth, such as: beers, seltzers, and other canned mixed drinks.
